Julia Domna, Augusta, 193-217. Antoninianus (Silver, 22 mm, 4.87 g, 1 h), Rome, 215-217. IVLIA PIA FELIX AVG Diademed and draped bust of Julia Domna set on crescent to right. Rev. VENVS GENETRIX Venus seated left, holding apple in her right hand and scepter with her left; at her feet, Cupid standing front, legs crossed, resting his right hand on her right knee. BMC 27. Cohen 206. RIC 389a. A nicely toned example with an excellent portrait. The reverse a bit weak, otherwise, about extremely fine.
